Exporter Just Plants in Honselersdijk has recently joined the growing community of satisfied FreshPortal software users. Owner Wilfried van der Hoeven states that FreshPortal delivered exactly what they look for in a software provider. "The right package at the right price. We are a small company, and the software package we now have fits that perfectly."

Together with an enthusiastic team of around nine employees, Wilfried van der Hoeven gives Just Plants its colourful character every day. Wilfried shares that he has been active in the Italian market since the age of twenty-four. "Back then through indoor and garden plant exporter Vida Verde, and later through Baardse (Florimex). After Baardse went bankrupt, I started my own company — first for a few years under the banner of another company that acted as a financier, but since 1 August 2019 it has been Just Plants. With an ever-growing team, we serve a growing customer base in countries such as Germany, Austria, France, Spain, and Portugal."

Short lines of communication
Like FreshPortal, Just Plants excels in short lines of communication and personal contact. "Customers place their orders with us and we source the products ourselves — usually from growers in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, or Denmark, or via the auction clocks at Royal FloraHolland Naaldwijk or Aalsmeer. This means customers get exactly what they asked for. In other words, we look at the plants being shipped through the eyes of the customer. This always results in a great match. Around seventy percent of our daily fresh trade finds its way to Italy every day."

Up and running quickly
Wilfried is convinced that a thriving business like Just Plants benefits from tailored software — and he found the right package at the right price with FreshPortal. "The implementation of the FreshPortal software went smoothly. Starting any new process always takes a little getting used to, but after working with the new software for a few days, everyone was comfortable with it — including the less tech-savvy colleagues. A webshop is also part of our package. Even though not all customers order through it, for us it is an important tool for all the added-value products and cut flowers we offer to our customers."

Compared to their previous software, Wilfried says FreshPortal is far more organised and easy to use. "It works simply — with just a few mouse clicks you are exactly where you need to be. The guidance from FreshPortal was excellent, and their experience on the export side really helped translate our requirements and wishes into the perfect package. Room for improvement? There always is, but you can always work that out with the support team. I would definitely recommend FreshPortal software to other potential users. For us, it works perfectly."
